Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2023 World Masters Track Cycling Championships in Manchester.

Volunteers will play an important role in the event, and there are a range of roles available, none more important than the other and all part of the team to ensure the smooth running of the Championships. You will be allocated a role relevant to your experience, if you haven’t done any before, don’t worry you will be briefed fully prior to the start of your 1st shift.

Volunteer applications will open on March 1st 2023. If you are interested in applying to volunteer please complete the application form by 22nd July 2023 All applicants will be contacted by Monday 6th August 2023 and notified of their allocated shifts.

An online briefing will be given prior to the Championships starting at a date to be advised.

FAQs

The 2023 World Masters Track Cycling Championships will once again be held in Manchester from the 30th September to the 7th October.

What are the criteria to apply to volunteer?

  • You can apply if you meet the following criteria:
  • 18 years of age or over by 29th September 2023
  • Available for a minimum of four shifts between Saturday September 30th and Saturday October 7th 2023. (The days are split into 2 sessions)
  • Have a valid and working email address

When will volunteer applications open?

Applications to be a volunteer at the event will open on March 1st 2023.

When will I hear whether my application has been successful?

On completion of the online application form you will receive a thank you message on your browser screen to confirm your application has been received. You will be notified by 6th August of the shifts you have been allocated.

Will you be providing accommodation for volunteers?

No, we will not be providing or covering the costs for volunteer accommodation during the event

Will you be providing expenses for volunteers?

No, we will not be able to cover the costs of travel expenses for the event. All volunteers will be provided with a hot meal or packed lunch dependant on their shift times. Tea, coffee & water are readily available. All volunteers will receive an event T-shirt and a goodie bag.

Do I have to live in Manchester to be a volunteer?

No, However, applicants need to be mindful of the accommodation and travels costs that they will incur prior to application, together with the times of their shifts.

Will I receive any training for my role?

Yes, on the day training will be provided, prior to your shift commencing.
